More about Jemma Wallace

ONCE upon a time, a pimply pubescent teen stumbled across a big banana and in that big banana was a cold, cold surface the size of a basketball court. The teen was so excited, she had never seen anything so beautiful.  Little did she know that this cold place would become a big part of her life and lead to many opportunities in the future.

I started playing ice hockey in my early teens when the Big Banana opened up its very own ice rink in 1999. I had very little knowledge of what ice skating was or what the sport of ice hockey was about.  I love all sport and when the opportunity to start playing such a foreign, challenging  sport came along I started to save for my first pair of skates.

From that first day of skating I was addicted and from there opened a rollercoaster of amazing opportunities.

My achievements and involvement in Women’s Ice hockey have helped me in working through many challenges that occur in everyday happenings. Using my experience and leadership, my goal this year, as it has been in previous years, is to support new developing players into a competitive Goannas squad.

Goannas are the team with a difference.
